DockGrove

Your Mac.
Your control.

Privacy information for the DockGrove 1.0 commercial release candidate. Updated October 29, 2026. This describes the implementation under review; live sales are not enabled. The public website currently serves static pages only. The purchase, activation and recovery services described below are not deployed.

Local app data

Notes, tasks, layouts, shortcuts, companion progress and voice memos are stored locally on your Mac. Microphone recording starts only when you choose Record. Clipboard history is opt-in and stays in memory. These items are not uploaded to a DockGrove server.

Purchases and activation

Stripe hosts checkout and processes card details. DockGrove stores the purchase email, Stripe session and payment identifiers, payment status, and license records. The activation service stores a hash of a generated installation identifier and activation timestamps to enforce the personal-device allowance. It does not need your Mac’s serial number, documents, or browsing history.

License keys and recovery tokens are checked against cryptographic hashes; signed activation entitlements are cached locally. The website uses an essential HttpOnly purchase-session cookie to retrieve your own purchase after checkout. It does not store license keys in localStorage. Recovery links carry a short-lived token in the URL fragment, which the recovery page removes before completing verification.

Hosting and recovery email

The candidate backend is designed for Cloudflare Workers, D1 and private R2 storage. Cloudflare processes network requests, including network metadata. Rate limiting uses request-derived hashes. If configured, Resend delivers purchase-recovery messages and receives the recipient’s email and recovery message. This service must be configured before recovery emails can be delivered.

Connected widgets

Enabled integrations contact their named services. Calendar uses macOS EventKit; music controls use macOS Automation. The legacy/development weather widget sends your selected city to Open-Meteo; it is unavailable in the commercial candidate pending an approved provider configuration. Currency conversion sends the currency pair to Frankfurter. GitHub and API widgets contact the selected provider. API credentials are stored in macOS Keychain. Optional music artwork is fetched from the music provider’s image service.

AI usage

Codex uses your existing local sign-in to retrieve reported allowance windows. It does not count ordinary ChatGPT messages. Claude Code and Gemini bridges retain supported numeric usage statistics rather than prompts or responses. Connecting a usage widget does not run AI inference.

Cookies, retention and choices

This website has no advertising or custom analytics. Essential purchase-session cookies support checkout. The backend periodically clears expired recovery tokens and rate-limit records; purchase and license records remain available for activation and recovery. A final retention and deletion policy requires owner review before live sales.

You can revoke optional macOS permissions in System Settings. Deactivate a Mac from the app before transferring its activation slot. For purchase or data requests, use the support link below to request a private contact method; do not post email addresses, license keys, or payment information publicly.

Release status

This candidate is not Apple-notarized and has not undergone a production security audit. Live checkout, approved customer terms, and final support handling are release prerequisites.
